Strive ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of children and families who use our app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who We Are

Strive is an educational app for children aged 9–12, designed to help them prepare for the 11+ exam. We are based in the United Kingdom.

2. Children's Privacy

We take children's privacy seriously. Strive is designed for use under parental guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. Parents create and manage child profiles within the app.

We comply with the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code) and COPPA.

3. What We Collect

• Device ID — a random identifier generated on your device, used to sync your data
• Child profile data — name (first name only), avatar choice, target school, exam board
• Progress data — quiz results, XP, streaks, topic performance (used to personalise practice)
• Apple ID — only if you choose Sign in with Apple; we receive only your anonymised Apple user ID

We do NOT collect: email addresses (unless you contact us), location data, contacts, camera access, microphone access, or any advertising identifiers.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and personalise the Strive experience
• To sync progress across devices
• To adapt question difficulty using AI
• To show parents their child's progress

We never sell your data. We never use your data for advertising.

5. Data Storage

Data is stored securely on Cloudflare's infrastructure (EU and UK data centres). All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3. Data at rest is encrypted.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account Settings → Delete Account.

7. Third Parties

• Firebase (Google) — user authentication only. Firebase does not receive quiz or progress data.
• Cloudflare — backend infrastructure and data storage
• Anthropic — AI question generation (anonymised topic requests only; no personal data sent)
• Apple — Sign in with Apple (optional)

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or third-party data brokers.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access all data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Export your data in a portable format

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify users of material changes via the app. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
